The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has issued a Request for Information regarding funding it will receive under the EMT. The notice includes a draft Beneficiary Mitigation Plan for the $60.3 million that Michigan is set to receive. Feedback is requested concerning the draft Beneficiary Mitigation Plan. The Plan specifies project types, allocations and grantee match requirements. The draft plan includes a detailed breakdown of how funds could be spent. As currently written, slightly more than half would go for clean school bus projects. The MDEQ issued a VW Environmental Mitigation Trust Request for Information to solicit comments and ideas from the public on the State’s draft Beneficiary Mitigation Plan. A total of 44 unique comments were received from businesses, organizations, and individuals.  The MDEQ completed a Response to Comments document and is currently working on the final Beneficiary Mitigation Plan.
