NGVS DOMINATE JOINT 2014 ACT EXPO/NGV GLOBAL

More than 3,500 attended this week’s co-located Alternative Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo and NGV Global 2014 Conference & Expo in Long Beach, California, where NGVs and NGV-related sessions were dominant on the expo floor, at the ride-and-drive, and during the general and breakout sessions. The ACT Expo, hosted by Gladstein, Neandross & Associates, is North America’s largest event for the alternative fuel vehicle industry, bringing together the full gamut of alternative fuel and AFV technology advocates—including OEMs, fuel providers, infrastructure developers, policy makers, other industry stakeholders and fleets. This year’s ACT event was co-located with NGV Global 2014, a biennial conference and exhibition to promote the global natural gas transportation market.

NGVAmerica, many NGVAmerica members and other NGV companies exhibited on the 150,000 sq. ft. expo floor. The expo floor featured 29 NGVs, including 17 heavy duty trucks:

On Thursday, NGVAmerica president Rich Kolodziej made opening remarks and moderated an NGV Global plenary session titled “Lessons Learned from the International NGV Market & Application to North America-Secondary Market & Infrastructure Development.” Speakers included: Mariarosa Baroni, president & CEO, NGV Italy; Mats Ekelund, partner, senior adviser of projects & finance, Strateco Development AB; Jorge Mathuiy, commercial director, MAT SA, and member, Brazilian Petroleum & Gas Institute NGV Committee; and Jeffrey Seisler, CEO, Clean Fuels Consulting. Rich also participated in the NGV Global closing plenary session panel addressing industry strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges.

On Wednesday evening, NGVAmerica Director of Market Development Stephe Yborra joined U.S. DOE Clean Cities National Clean Fleets Partner program manager Mark Smith as the two keynote speakers at Bauer Compressors’ 2nd Annual State of the Industry dinner at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
