NGVAmerica Promotes Natural Gas at NACS Show in Las Vegas

This week, NGVAmerica promoted natural gas as an alt fuel as part of the Future of Fuels Showcase, sponsored by NACS (the Association for Convenience & Fuel Retailing) and presented by the Fuels Institute, at the NACS/PEI Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Showcase featured displays representing other fuels, including clean diesel, ethanol and hydrogen. The natural gas display, which had more than twice the floor space than the other fuels, featured a Bennett CNG dispenser and four NGVs: a 2013 Bi-Fuel GMC Silverado, 2014 Bi-Fuel GMC Sierra from AGA Systems, a CNG Ram Promaster and an in-service CNG Transit Connect taxi. The exhibit attracted a lot of attention from C-store owners that were interested in the possibility of adding natural gas to their fuels on offer. Interested attendees received a “101” in natural gas infrastructure and economics. “Never before have NACS Show attendees been able to take a look at the actual vehicles that might represent their future customer base and learn about the infrastructure that would be required to satisfy potential future fuel demand,” said John Eichberger, executive director of the Fuels Institute. The Fuels Institute seeks to bring together stakeholders with a vested interest in the fuels and vehicles market to share information about market opportunities.
