NGV Myths Debunked at Green Fleet Conference & Expo

This week at the Green Fleet Conference & Expo (October 28th–30th) held at the Renaissance Convention Center in Schaumburg, Illinois, NGVAmerica had an opportunity to debunk various misconceptions about NGV safety, infrastructure cost, vehicle conversion pricing, fracking and the stability of natural gas fuel pricing as it relates to current diesel and gasoline pricing at the pump. The event, “All-Fuels Super Session,” was hosted by Richard Battersby (City of Oakland, California) and included fuel experts representing the propane, electric, biodiesel, hybrid, diesel and natural gas vehicle industries. Tom Sheehan spoke on behalf of the NGV industry and responded to common NGV-related myths in addition to providing highlights on the current state of the industry.

Bobit Business Media’s Green Fleet Conference & Expo attracted a large gathering of fleet professionals interested in improving the efficiencies of their fleets. Those in attendance included employees of commercial and corporate companies; city, county and state departments; government agencies and utilities with job responsibilities in fleet and executive management, purchasing, operations, and service and maintenance. The exhibit floor represented all alternative fuels and included a designated area called the “Ambassador’s Lounge” where attendees could direct questions to Tom Sheehan as well as other alternative fuel representatives. NGVAmerica members exhibiting included: Advanced Vehicle Technology Services, American Power Group, ANGI Energy Systems, Bauer Compressors, Ford Motor Company, Hexagon Lincoln, J-W Power Company, Kwik Trip and Leggett & Platt CVP. The Ride & Drive offered seven NGVs to test drive, and the exhibit floor displayed many NGVs including the new bi-fuel Chevy Impala available for sale at the end of the year.
