Lunch and Learn: Tax Extenders 101

March 15 @ 12:00 pm

Free

Tax credit, tax extender, orphaned extender, retroactive extension; what does it all mean? There are over 70,000 pages in the U.S. tax code, and in 2017, the tax code underwent its first major overhaul in over thirty years. Yet you’ve likely heard about “Tax Extenders”, a set of expired provisions reinstated on a short-term or retroactive basis.

How did we get to this point? Join us for a Chick-Fil-A lunch and learn to discuss tax extenders, a history on their extension and the importance of these credits.

Understanding these credits is crucial for tax staff, as well as those who handle policy issues. The expired tax extenders include provisions dealing with alternative fuels, clean transportation, and infrastructure investment, among others.

Please join us for a lunch briefing on the history of these tax credits, what they are, and how they impact businesses across the country. Hear from a panel of tax policy professionals impacted by these temporary tax provisions. The briefing will be nonpartisan and bicameral. Staff from House and Senate offices are invited to participate.

WhenFriday, March 15, 12:00-1:30 p.m.
