NGVAmerica Participates in Member’s Briefing of Kansas Code Officials

This week, NGVAmerica participated in a briefing for code officials from several western Kansas towns. The meeting, organized by Sparq with support from Black Hills Energy, coincided with the recent opening of Sparq’s public access CNG station in Liberal, Kansas and the company’s plans to expand its area station network in cooperation with local municipalities. Stephe Yborra’s remote presentation covered an overview of NGV market growth, examples of other municipalities’ NGV deployment programs, potential public- private CNG station development partnership opportunities and a brief summary of applicable codes covering CNG station development and maintenance facility modifications. Following Stephe’s overview, Tony Fulton, a Nebraska-based professional engineer provided a more in-depth code presentation on CNG-related codes, frequently referencing Clean Vehicle Education Foundation’s facility modification guidance document and other resource materials.
